How I work

Two days on property. Three days of write-up.

No 40-page binder that ends up in a drawer.

Approach

If you came up through the property, you know consulting starts where the slides stop. The work happens in the operation, with the people who run it every day. No distance from the floor. Not talking about departments. Working in them.

Process

  1. First call

Phone or on site. No commitment. 45 minutes is enough to know whether the work fits.

  2. Visit on property

Two days in the operation, with the key people in the GM office, front desk, housekeeping, and F&B. I work the shift, I don't inspect it.

  3. Write-up

Three days off site. I write the document the GM can actually use.

  4. Handover and alignment

I read it through with the GM and the owners. We set priorities. We name who owns what.

  5. Implementation support (optional)

Monthly check-ins. Bounded. Support ends when it's no longer needed, not when a contract runs out.

How fees work

Day rate or project fee, whichever serves the work. Travel is in the quote. It doesn't show up later as a separate line. A concrete proposal comes out of the free first call.

What doesn't happen

  • No junior consultants on the file. If you book me, you get Maximilian Bräu. Nobody else.
  • No commissions, no minimum terms. Recommendations and fees are independent.
  • No standardized coaching program. No off-the-shelf framework.

Contact

A first call costs you 45 minutes. Nothing else.

Frequently asked questions

How does an engagement start?

With a phone call. No agenda, no time pressure. 45 minutes at most. After that I know whether the work fits me, and you know how I work. Then I decide whether I'm the right fit for your property.

Do you work on property or remote?

Both happen. The starting point is always the property. I can't judge a process I haven't seen. The first visit, two days on site, isn't an optional add-on. It's the foundation.

How long does a project take?

I can't answer that honestly until after the first call. Some engagements wrap up inside a defined window. Others turn into longer support: monthly, clearly bounded, with the goal of making myself unnecessary.

What does the engagement cost?

Day rate or project fee, whichever serves the work. Travel is in the quote. It doesn't show up later as a separate line. A concrete proposal comes out of the free first call.

Will I be working with junior consultants or subcontractors?

No. If you book me, you get me. No junior consultants on the file. No outsourced pieces I haven't touched. That's not a marketing line. It's the only way this work runs.

What are your qualifications and experience?

I ran hotels before I started advising them. Front desk, financial controlling, deputy general manager, in properties of different sizes and profiles. On top of that: certified hotelier (ÖHV-Diplomhotelier, Austrian Hotel Association), an accounting qualification from the German Chamber of Commerce (IHK), and an appointment as IHK examiner. The full record is on the about page.

Is there a minimum term or notice period?

No. No minimum terms. No contract that outlives the value. Implementation support ends when it's no longer needed. That's the rule, not a clause.
